The Black Marketers Association of America (BMAA) is a national organization dedicated to connecting and empowering Black marketing professionals across the U.S. BMAA provides valuable resources, networking opportunities, and professional development to help members advance their careers and thrive in the marketing industry.

The Challenge

For the Shades of Marketing Tour, a 5-city experience designed to showcase and celebrate Black marketers, BMAA needed strategic and executional support to ensure the tour’s success.


Key needs included:

  • Securing sponsorships with a goal of $15,000 per stop

  • Managing multiple vendors and talent partners

  • Overseeing registration and day-of logistics

  • Driving ticket sales through effective marketing promotion
     

The challenge was to deliver a high-quality experience that attracted attendees ranging from entry-level marketers to C-suite executives, while also creating value for sponsors such as Southwest Airlines.

Our Approach

We partnered with BMAA to design a strategy that balanced financial sustainability, operational excellence, and attendee engagement.

  • Operational Planning: Developed the full agenda and run-of-show while managing catering, photography, videography, and in-kind vendors.

  • Promotional Campaign: Executed a three-channel marketing plan to drive awareness and ticket sales.

  • Day-of Coordination: Oversaw talent, vendors, and logistics to deliver a seamless event experience at every tour stop.

  • Attendees: 50 professionals per stop, ranging from entry-level marketers to executives across diverse industries.
